A Fresh Start

I think I've finally found a website, online store, and information hub that I actually like all in one spot. I decided just this past week to make it easier on myself and my customers and cut the cord with Etsy once and for all. I've tried to shut down my Etsy store before because the fees were getting to be too costly for me, so I moved to Square. However, I reopened the Etsy shop because I had a lot of traffic, which I don't with Square. Now, Etsy is going through a lot of changes (i.e. getting a new CEO, changing the seller dashboard, and changing the way buyers can search for listings on Etsy.), and I am having a lot of issues with traffic on my Etsy shop as well as that I just don't trust Etsy anymore. It's not just me-there are many other sellers and buyers who are fed up with all of the system errors with shipping, with seller dashboards, and with the way the Etsy team is handling (or should I say not handling) the system errors.
So, with the change, I want to mention that all of the payments on the website will be processed through Square, which is also what I use for payment processing at the store location. I have never had any issues (*knock on wood*), and many other people I have talked with use Square for their retail businesses and services. So, it just seemed like a no-brainer for me to link my pre-existing Square set up with the website store.
I am very excited that everything will be right here for customers and myself! I am also pleased to announce that not only can we keep our customers up to date through our website, Facebook, and mailing list, but we are now introducing a chat option for our website where you can chat live with me in real time while you're browsing the store. This is more convenient because instead of having to switch screens between Facebook or email and our product listings, you can have everything right in front of you and ask me questions in chat form. You can multitask better this way, and if you don't have Facebook, it still gives you the option to message me.
Also, there is an option to fill out a form for custom orders instead of scrolling down the page on our Facebook page to find it, there is a section right on our website specifically for ordering custom orders.
Speaking of orders, the store is set up to where you can order online and specify whether you would like to pick your order up at our store location rather than having to pay for shipping.
There are many more options available on the website, and I'll be looking for more to put on here that I find may be beneficial for customers. I'll also make sure to put a calendar of events so you know what's coming and keep you in the loop!
I am so excited to finally have something that works for customers and myself and something that is actually worth the time, effort, and money.
See you around the shop!
Kristine
